IT IS DECADENT!  FEEL FREE TO ASK QUESTIONS!    Okay, this is officially the COOLEST thing that has happened to me on eBay - the designer of this dress contacted me!  She had some more tidbits of fabulous information on this beauty... (drumroll please)... in her own words: Hello, I was surfing Ebay and found this Gabani dress which I designed back in the 80's!!!!!!! I was the founder and principal of the company and also responsible for design: some facts about this dress: it was made in New York City, the pouf lamé fabric is Italian, the sequins are aurora borealis made to match the colors of the lamé, the top is handloomed knit, also made of yarn with lamé threads to match the fabric, each sequin is loomed on by hand (it took about 3 to 4 days just to handloom one top). The dress looks to be in perfect condition. FYI, can only be spot cleaned like all sequined dresses (otherwise the sequins will melt in dry cleaning machine). The skirt part could also be removed and the top used alone (it has a finished edge at the hem). This way it might have more versatility to wear over a simple straight skirt, pants, or even jeans... it was bought by Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Ave, Nordstrom's, etc. and many high end exclusive boutiques in NY, Miami, Chicago, Dallas, L.A. It sold for over $600 which, in the late 80's, was high but the economy was booming at the time. Anyhow, thought you'd like to know some background. Good luck!!!
