I owned a store in Maine in the late 1980's and Luna Luz was a leading designer in the visionary breakthrough from the horrendous scary 1980's conservative fashions; the company was based in NYC and created the most amazing designs which were revolutonary and set the stage for the 1990's fashion revolution. Luna Luz items were costly but made super duper well with the most amazing high quality materials, like no other company in the 1980's. The velvet of this dress is so high quality, nobody makes them like this anymore; it's strong, plush, crushed, but not the cheap poly; it's just fantastic! soft as well!
